In 1999, in his role as Director of New Business Development within Avecia's Electronic Materials business, Kevin helped set up the OLED materials joint venture Covion, which in 2002 is now a fully-owned Avecia company. Presentation: Materials: Opportunities and Risks for the emerging OLED value chain
Abstract: The emergence of a range of different materials technologies represents not only opportunities for the materials companies in the emerging OLED value chain but can also represent considerable risk, as display vendors strive to select and develop optimum OLED structures and cost effective processes for OLED displays. Furthermore, focussed mutual support between the materials companies and the display and equipment companies is critical for the success of the industry. This presentation concentrates on the progress made, and outstanding issues arising, with respect to materials performance and optimisation and formulation of these materials for efficient deposition by ink-jet processing.
